"We are drowning in information but starving for Knowledge", John Naisbitt; There has been an explosion in the amount of data collated by organisations. Yet vast tracts of data are virtually redundant, unless they can be expressed as meaning knowledge. "Data Mining" is a discovery process, by which large data-sets are scrutinised, analysed and summarised into potentially useful information. This module is designed to cover some of the main technologies, benefits and challenges associated with Data Mining.
